The finish
Jana finished and I missed it. The guy I was helping out earlier left in an ambulance and hopefully he'll get back to Illinois at some point.
Photos will be coming on Sunday, but for now we have spagetti lunch on its way.

Hot!
Just spent 45 minutes giving shade, ice packs, and gatorade to a guy the passed out. Lot of people falling over with the heat. Ambulances are busy.
Off to find Jana at the finish!

Your All Most There
Your All Most There was on a sign I just passed (past...)
even You're All Most There would sound funny.
I may need my friend Amanda to figure this one out for me...

Mile 2.5ish
Found Jana with my sign again. She's probably not sick of me yet, but I'm doing my best.
May find her around mile 8 next and then try and beat her to the finish line.

Mile 1.3?
Jana just ran by and saw my sign. I also got the leader of the band to yell out 'Run Jana Run'
On to the next mile marker...
On to the next mile marker...
Jana and Noah's wild Nashville Marathon experience. 6:30am
So it's 6:30am and I'm sitting outside McDonald's in downtown Nashville around mile marker 1. Got up at 4:30 to drop Jana off around 5.
Jace graciously let us stay at his place last night. He's still in the middle of one of his 52 hour shifts so we didn't see him at all.
I'll keep this updated until my battery dies or my thumbs get tired.

Back in Knoxville
Read this post from the bottom up for the correct timeline. I'm not a good blogger.
We went through Maryland to get out of Virginia Tuesday night. Worked out great!

Exiting with the masses.

The former President leaving office

Several miles of people... unreal

Great seats!

Capital

Goofy hat day.

Something happened up front, and all of the sudden we were on the Mall. We were right in front of 3rd Street in the Silver standing section.

Near pandemonium. I thought we were special because we had tickets, but so did 238,998 other people. It got a little scary in the crush of people as they weren't letting people in, and the people behind us (for blocks?) starting chanting, "Let us in." It worked out and I wasn't crushed to death or gassed.

Getting closer and closer...

The Washington Post suggested that people bring cardboard to stand on. Apparently it keeps the cold from coming up through the pavement and your shoes. I went with a half case of hand-warmers.

So we walked 6 blocks to get to the end of the line...

These crowds don't look bad...

Tickets!!

Bare Knuckle Stout

Noah, Jana, Marc, Scott at the Pug.

Jana and her brother Marc

The Audacity of Soap. Nowhere near the tackiest souvenir.

Lots of love to our Tennessee WWII Veterans. It's an awesome memorial.

What an amazing day. It was a concert with most of the great artists from the last 30 years. Huge thanks to Scott, Becky, Jenny, Steve, Kelly, Adam, Megan, and many other people. Amazing time on the Mall and in Adams Morgan.

Saturday night
Jenny showed up and I think that we're going to the Irish Times. Hopefully we can find some change there. This is a pretty boring update. I'll have photos later.
