Back in Knoxville

Read this post from the bottom up for the correct timeline. I'm not a good blogger.

We went through Maryland to get out of Virginia Tuesday night. Worked out great!

Exiting with the masses.

The former President leaving office

Several miles of people... unreal

Great seats!

Capital

Goofy hat day.

Something happened up front, and all of the sudden we were on the Mall. We were right in front of 3rd Street in the Silver standing section.

Near pandemonium. I thought we were special because we had tickets, but so did 238,998 other people. It got a little scary in the crush of people as they weren't letting people in, and the people behind us (for blocks?) starting chanting, "Let us in." It worked out and I wasn't crushed to death or gassed.

Getting closer and closer...

The Washington Post suggested that people bring cardboard to stand on. Apparently it keeps the cold from coming up through the pavement and your shoes. I went with a half case of hand-warmers.

So we walked 6 blocks to get to the end of the line...

These crowds don't look bad...

Tickets!!
